Worship

Worship is at the very heart of our church, where the Biblically based sermons are preached, our joys and concerns are articulated and prayers raised to God.

What to Expect

Attending worship at a new church for the first time can be intimidating!

We hope this information will better prepare you.

Arriving

Our parking lot is large and you shouldn't have a problem finding a spot. There is additional parking on the opposite side of the road, when needed. If you have someone needing mobility assistance there are spaces directly in front of the Friendship Hall and additional spaces near the Sanctuary. Both the Friendship Hall and Sanctuary are accessible.

You will be met at the Sanctuary door by a greeter. They are there to welcome you, give you a bulletin, and help with anything you might be looking for.

Finding a seat - please sit wherever you feel most comfortable sitting. Please do not worry that you might be "taking someone's pew"!

Before worship people are lively and full of joy catching up with old friends and greeting new ones. If you are early enough you might even catch the choir rehearsing!

The Service

You are welcome to join us in-person, or worship with us via Zoom at 10 am each Sunday morning.

Worship usually lasts about one hour and includes a time of meditation, prayers, responsive readings, and music. Our pastor provides a 10-15 minute message connecting the scripture to modern life and challenging listeners to grow in faith and service.

Congregational singing and the music offered by our excellent choir are also key components of our hour together each week.  Communion is served on the first Sunday of the month and all are welcome to participate.

After worship, there is a time of fellowship, with coffee and tea served while people share news about their lives with friends.

Children in Worship

We believe children are not simply the church of tomorrow - they are the church of today. In worship, we joyfully welcome children as their full and authentic selves: curious, noisy, thoughtful, restless, imaginative, and deeply beloved by God.

We are committed to creating a worshiping community where families can breathe, belong, and participate without pressure to "perfectly behave," but instead to be present. Whether a child is coloring in the pew, asking big questions during a Time for All God's Children, or simply soaking in the rhythm of prayer and song, they are fully included in the life of God's people.

While children/youth are welcome to stay in the sanctuary for all of worship, there is Sunday School for ages up to about 6th grade. Following A Time for All Ages, children are welcome to go to the Friendship Hall with their teachers.

Music and Chior
Music Ministry and Choir

Our music ministry is a vital part of our life together.  All are welcome to participate in the choir. The choir meets for practice on Sunday mornings at 8:45am. Our choir director, Maggi Heilweil, is the principal instructor of the Heilweil Vocal Arts Studio and has earned the dedicated loyalty of members of this excellent small choir.
